This project is the fifth ship of the MILGEM Project, which will be the first national Frigate ship, and the first ship of the I-class Frigates.

In the project, approximately 80 subcontractors are working for more than 150 systems. In total, the number of companies worked with through contracts and purchase orders has reached 220. The localization rate of the Istanbul Frigate is targeted to exceed 75 percent.


This ship features Technology-Critical National weapon and sensor systems that will be included in the inventory for the first time.


Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to commission the nationally designed and built Istanbul within the year 2023. Efforts are ongoing for our 6th, 7th, and 8th Frigates, which are the continuation platforms of our MILGEM I-Class Frigates.
