What is the DAP (Digital Archive Project)?

DAP is the largest digitalization and archive restoration project in Turkey, implemented by the public sector. Within the scope of the project, it was aimed to transfer physical archives of population records across Turkey to a digital environment, store them securely, and make them rapidly accessible by authorized users.

With DAP, 110,000 population registers, 500,000 folders, and 380,000,000 supporting documents were digitized and transferred to central digital archive systems; document access processes were accelerated and corporate memory was secured with a sustainable digital infrastructure. Additionally, approximately 1 million documents were preserved through restoration processes within the scope of the project.

Orbisis's Mission in the Project:

Within the scope of the project, Orbisis has commissioned high-capacity backup and archiving systems for long-term and secure data storage, along with the installation of enterprise-scale server and storage infrastructures capable of hosting high-volume digital archive data.

In this context, central storage infrastructures providing tens of petabytes of data storage capacity were established, and all archive data was securely protected with enterprise tape-based backup systems that meet long-term data storage needs.

Furthermore, Orbisis managed the data flow, access, and operational processes between the digitized archive environment and institutional systems; it successfully carried out end-to-end integration processes with the institution's MERNİS, AKS, MAKS, TCKK, Corporate Data Warehouse, Business Continuity Center, and e-Citizenship systems.

Thanks to the established infrastructure, millions of documents have been securely transferred to the digital environment, and archive management processes have been transformed into a modern and sustainable structure by providing fast and secure data access throughout the institution.
